This article explains the invoices your organization receives for a Team plan, where to find them, and how to read the charges on them.
This article covers Team plans purchased directly on the web.
Types of invoices your organization may receive
Subscription invoices. Your organization is invoiced at the start of each billing cycle, every month or once a year depending on your billing interval, for the seats on your plan at that time.
Seat change invoices. When an owner adds members or upgrades seats in the middle of a billing cycle, your organization is invoiced right away for the prorated cost of those seats for the rest of the cycle. Upgrading a seat from Standard to Premium works the same way and charges the prorated price difference. Removing members doesn't generate an invoice or a credit; the seat stays available to assign to someone else.

Usage credit receipts. If your organization has enabled usage credits, each purchase of funds is charged separately from your subscription and has its own receipt. This includes purchases made automatically by auto-reload and any usage bundles an owner buys.

Credit notes. If we refund part of an invoice after it's been issued, for example the tax on an invoice after your organization is marked tax-exempt, you'll receive a credit note that references the original invoice.
Find your invoices
After each charge, we automatically email the invoice to your organization's billing email address(es). To find a past invoice in that inbox, search for the subject line "Your receipt from Anthropic."
An organization owner can also open and download any invoice from your organization's account:
Find the Invoices section.
Click “View” next to the invoice you want to open. A new Stripe tab opens.
Click “Download invoice.”
To change the billing email address or add more recipients, contact our Support team. Learn more in Team plan billing FAQs.
Read your invoice
Seat charges. A renewal invoice charges the full seat price for each seat on your plan at the start of the cycle. On a monthly plan, that's the monthly seat price times the number of seats. On an annual plan, it's the monthly seat price times 12, times the number of seats.
Prorated charges. A seat change invoice charges only for the part of the billing cycle that's left when the seats were added or upgraded, so the amount is less than the full seat price. For a worked example, see How is my Team plan bill calculated?
Applied balance. An "Applied balance" line means a credit already on your organization's account was used to pay part or all of the invoice. It's not a new charge and not a discount on that invoice. Credits come from a credit note or an overpayment on an earlier invoice, and they're applied to your next invoices automatically.
Tax. Tax is calculated from your organization's billing address. Learn more about your billing address and tax calculation. If your organization is tax-exempt, see Team plan billing FAQs for how to have tax removed.
Amount due. The invoice total minus any applied balance. This is what your organization's payment method was charged.
Note: The Projected total shown in Organization settings > Billing doesn't include tax, so it will be lower than the total on your invoice.
Billing details on your invoice
The name and address on an invoice come from your organization's payment method at the time the invoice was issued. To show a different name on invoices, an owner can check "Use a different name on invoices" when adding or updating the payment method in Organization settings > Billing.
Changes to your billing details apply to future invoices only. Once an invoice has been issued, we can't edit or reissue it.
Frequently asked questions
Why did we receive an invoice in the middle of our billing cycle?
An owner added members or upgraded seats. Those changes are invoiced immediately at a prorated amount rather than being added to your next renewal invoice.
We removed members. Why didn't our invoice go down?
Removing a member frees up the seat but doesn't reduce your bill or generate a credit. You're charged for the seats on your plan at the start of each billing cycle, so to lower your next invoice, an owner needs to reduce your plan's total seat allocation before it renews.

Why did we get two receipts in the same month?
If your organization uses usage credits, those purchases are billed separately from your subscription. One receipt is for your seats and the other is for the usage credits that were added, whether an owner added them or auto-reload did.
Can you correct the details on an invoice we already received?
No. Issued invoices can't be changed. An owner can update your billing details in Organization settings > Billing, and the changes will appear on your next invoice.
