See your monthly recap

Your monthly recap shows you how you’ve been using Claude—the topics you spent time on, when you tend to reach for it, and where you might try something new. It’s designed to reflect your patterns back without judgment so you can decide what, if anything, you’d like to change.

The monthly recap is in beta for users with Free, Pro, and Max plans using Claude on the web or Claude Desktop. It only appears when memory is turned on, and isn't available on Team or Enterprise plans. It's available in all regions where Claude is offered.

Open your recap

  1. Open Claude on the web or Claude Desktop.

  2. Your recap loads for the past month. Click the “Past month” dropdown at the top and select another option to load your recap for a different range (this month so far, past 3 months, past 6 months, past year).

  3. You can click the refresh icon next to the dropdown to regenerate the recap for the current range.

Note: This feature is rolling out gradually. If you don’t see it yet, check back later.

What your recap shows

Opening summary

A short headline and paragraph describing your month with Claude. It names the actual work and themes from your conversations rather than offering generic praise.

Your time with Claude

Three headline stats: your most active day, your peak hour, and your total conversations. Below them, a daily activity chart shows how your conversations were spread across the period.

Below the chart, click “Set quiet hours and breaks” to open your Time and focus settings. See Set break reminders and quiet hours for details.

What you spent time on

A proportional breakdown of the themes and topics you brought to Claude over the period, each with a short description and percentage.

Expanding your skills

Observations drawn from your own conversations, framed around four AI fluency skills:

  • Delegation: what to hand off, and what to keep

  • Description: the context you give Claude

  • Discernment: weighing what comes back

  • Diligence: how you represent AI use in your work

Each card pairs an observation with a concrete next step you can take, like creating a skill or a project. Click “Learn about AI fluency” to read more about the framework.

What’s included in your recap

Claude builds your recap from your recent chats. Because the recap relies on the same chat history that powers memory, it only appears when memory is on. If you turn memory off, the recap is hidden.

Your activity on Claude Mobile is included in your recap even though that page isn’t available on mobile yet.

Content from connected services

When Claude pulls content from a connected service like Gmail or Google Drive, your recap doesn't incorporate the raw email or file. It may incorporate anything Claude wrote in the chat about it. For example, if you ask Claude to summarize your inbox, the emails themselves aren't pulled into your recap, but the summary Claude wrote is.

Conversations that are skipped entirely

Some conversations are left out of your recap completely:

  • Incognito chats

  • Conversations that use a health integration, such as Apple Health or Health Connect

  • Activity in Claude Cowork and Claude Code

How your recap handles sensitive topics

People bring all kinds of things to Claude, and some conversations touch on difficult or personal subjects. These are handled with care in your recap:

  • Sensitive or distress-related topics never lead your recap.

  • They’re never itemized with counts or percentages.

  • Where appropriate, support resources appear alongside your recap.

Turn your recap off

Your recap is available by default for eligible accounts where memory is on.

You can disable it by turning Generate memory from chat history off in Settings > Capabilities. There is no dedicated toggle for the recap, so if the memory setting is on, the recap will also be enabled. Even with memory enabled, your recap is only generated when you navigate to the Settings > Reflect page; if you don’t land on that page, Claude won’t create a recap for you.

Turning the recap off doesn’t affect your chat history or any break reminders or quiet hours you’ve already set in Settings > Time and focus.

Frequently asked questions

Does viewing my recap use my plan’s usage?

Viewing your recap doesn’t count toward your usage limits. If you start a conversation from a suggestion on the page, that conversation counts toward your usage like any other chat.

Why don’t I see Reflect in Settings?

Check that memory is toggled on under Settings > Capabilities, that you’re on a Free, Pro, or Max plan, and that you’re using Claude on the web or Claude Desktop. The recap isn't available on Team or Enterprise plans or on Claude Mobile.

Why does a percentage or stat look off?

Claude generates your recap's summary and topic breakdown from your chat history, so occasional inaccuracies can occur in the proportions or the narrative summary. Use the thumbs feedback on the page to let us know if something looks wrong. If you use more than one Claude account, each account’s recap covers that account only.
