Claude Fable models on your plan

We previously ran a promotion that allowed you to use up to 50% of your weekly subscription limit on Claude Fable 5 at no extra cost. That promotion ended on July 19, 2026 at 11:59:59 PM PT, and it applied to Fable 5 only. Claude Fable 5.1 was never part of it.

Fable 5 and Fable 5.1 work the same way on your plan. On Max plans, premium seats on Team plans, and premium seats on legacy seat-based Enterprise plans, both are a standard part of your plan. On Pro plans, standard seats on Team plans, and standard seats on legacy seat-based Enterprise plans, both models run on pay-as-you-go usage credits. This article explains how they work on each plan, how to access them, and what happens when you reach your usage limits.

Claude Fable 5 and Claude Fable 5.1 are available on all paid plans (Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise).

How Fable models work on each plan

  • Max plans, premium seats on Team plans, and premium seats on seat-based Enterprise plans: Fable 5 and Fable 5.1 are included as a standard part of your plan. You can use up to 50% of your weekly usage limits on Fable models at no extra cost. They draw from your plan's regular weekly usage limits and use them faster than other Claude models. When you reach your Fable limit, you can keep using Fable models with usage credits, or switch to another model to stay within your plan's usage limits.

  • Pro plans and standard seats on Team plans: Fable 5 and Fable 5.1 aren’t included in your plan's usage limits. You can use them with usage credits, which let you pay for usage beyond what your plan includes. Eligible Pro and Team standard seats qualified for a one-time credit when Fable 5 moved to usage credits in July 2026. That credit applied to the Fable 5 change only, and there's no equivalent credit for Fable 5.1. Learn more about the Claude Fable 5 one-time free credits promotion.

  • Standard seats on seat-based Enterprise plans: Fable 5 and Fable 5.1 aren’t included in your plan's usage limits. You can use them if your organization has enabled usage credits, which let you pay for usage beyond what your plan includes. Standard seats on seat-based Enterprise plans don't qualify for the one-time promotional credit.

  • Usage-based Enterprise plans: Access to Fable 5 and Fable 5.1 is billed at standard API rates. For current per-model pricing, see our API pricing page.

  • Claude API: Access to Fable 5 and Fable 5.1 is billed at standard API rates. For current per-model pricing, see our API pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

Why can’t I see Claude Fable 5 or Fable 5.1?

Check the following:

  • You’re on a paid Claude plan. Fable 5 isn’t available on the Free plan.

  • If you’re using Claude Code, you’re on version 2.1.170 or later for Fable 5, or 2.1.250 or later for Fable 5.1.

  • If you’re using Cowork, you’re on the latest version of Claude Desktop.

  • Your organization hasn't enabled Fable models.

Will this use my regular usage limits?

It depends on your plan. On the Max plan, premium seats on the Team plan, and premium seats on the seat-based Enterprise plan, Fable models count toward your plan's usage limits, and you can use up to 50% of your weekly usage limits on Fable models at no extra cost. On the Pro plan, standard seats on the Team plan, and standard seats on the seat-based Enterprise plan, Fable models run on usage credits rather than your plan's usage limits.

Will I get 50% more for my weekly limit for Fable models if I’m on the Max plan, Team plan with premium seats, or a seat-based Enterprise plan with premium seats?

No. You can use up to 50% of your weekly limit on Fable models, but your use of other models draws from the same usage limits and you can never use more than your weekly limit. You can track both in your usage settings.

I'm on the Pro or Team plan. Why is Fable 5 no longer included?

The earlier promotion that included Fable 5 in your plan's weekly usage limits ended on July 19, 2026 at 11:59:59 PM PT. On the Pro plan and standard seats on the Team plan, you can keep using Fable 5 with usage credits or by upgrading to the Max plan. You may also be eligible for a one-time credit. Learn more about the Claude Fable 5 one-time free credits promotion.

Fable 5.1 works the same way on these plans: it isn't included in your plan's usage limits, and it wasn't part of the earlier promotion.
