If you're using Claude with a personal account (Free, Pro, or Max) tied to your work email, your organization may be able to bring that account into their Enterprise workspace. How this works depends on which plan your organization uses.
Enterprise plan: domain claiming
Enterprise admins can claim all existing personal accounts on their organization's verified domain and move them into the Enterprise workspace. If your admin initiates a domain claim, you'll receive an email and in-product notification with a deadline (at least 30 days out) to choose between merging your data into a new Enterprise account or starting fresh.
For the full walkthrough of your options, deadlines, and what happens to your subscription, see Respond to an Enterprise domain claim on your Claude account.
Team plan
Team plan organizations can't claim or migrate existing personal accounts. If you're joining a Team organization, you'll be added as a new member with a separate account. There's no way to merge data between a personal account and a Team account at this time.
Team admins can block new personal account creation on their verified domain, but they can't claim accounts that already exist.
Manage personal and organization accounts
If your organization is on a Team plan (or hasn't initiated domain claiming), you may have both a personal account and an organization account tied to the same email address. You can switch between them by clicking your initials or name in the lower left corner of the screen.
A blue checkmark shows which account you're currently using. Click the other account to switch to it and access its separate conversations and projects.
Discontinue your personal account manually
If you'd rather not wait for a domain claim, you can discontinue your personal account on your own:
Cancel your individual paid plan if applicable.
Export your data while you still have access.
Navigate to Settings > Account and click "Delete" to delete your account.
Note: There's no self-serve way to transfer personal account data into a Team or Enterprise account outside of the domain claiming process.
