Refunds for customers in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom (UK)

What should I do if I can't access the account I'm requesting a refund for?

If you're unable to log in to the account associated with your payment (for example, if you can't access the email account you used to sign up), you'll need to contact our Support team using another email and 'cc' the email address tied to the account you can't access. Write back to cancel your paid plan and request a refund so our team can assist.

I paid for my plan on Claude for iOS—what's the process for requesting a refund?

If you paid for your plan on Claude for iOS, this means your subscription was purchased through the Apple App Store. Apple processed this payment, so only Apple can review and issue a refund—our Support team can't access or refund App Store charges.

To request a refund from Apple:

  1. Sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple Account you used to purchase your subscription.

  2. Tap or click "I'd like to," then choose "Request a refund."

  3. Choose the reason for your refund request, then click "Next."

  4. Select your Claude subscription, then click "Submit."

Apple will review your request and notify you of their decision. You can check the status of your request any time by returning to reportaproblem.apple.com. Refunds for App Store purchases are granted at Apple's discretion.

Note: Requesting a refund doesn't cancel your subscription. To avoid future charges, you'll also need to cancel. For instructions, see Cancel your Pro or Max subscription.

I paid for my plan on Claude for Android—what's the process for requesting a refund?

If you have an active subscription purchased on Claude for Android, our Support team will need to check your eligibility before assisting with a refund. When contacting us, provide any relevant details upfront so our team can help with your request.

If you're requesting a refund for an inactive subscription, you'll need to contact our Support team with the email address associated with your Google Play account or your GPA order number (found on your Google Play receipt, formatted GPA.xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx) to further review the charge and refund eligibility.

I upgraded from Pro or Max to Team—when do I get my refund?

When you upgrade to a Team plan from a Pro or Max plan, your individual subscription is cancelled automatically and a prorated refund is issued for the unused portion of your billing period. You don't need to request the refund manually as it's handled as part of the upgrade. Refunds usually appear immediately, but they can take a few days after your Team payment clears. Any prepaid usage credits on your individual account are refunded.

If you signed up for Pro or Max through the Apple App Store, you can't upgrade to Team in place. Cancel your iOS subscription through your Apple ID settings first, then start the Team upgrade. App Store subscription refunds need to be requested through Apple directly, as described above.

For full upgrade details, see Get started with the Team plan.

How do I request a refund when I'm disputing the payment?

Our Support team cannot process refunds during pending disputes, as the disputed funds are pulled back immediately. You can choose to either continue working with your bank until the dispute is resolved, or to withdraw the bank dispute, which will allow us to process a refund.
