For a limited time, when you create or edit an artifact in Claude or Claude Cowork, a portion of the work that follows uses 50% less of your five-hour session limit. After the discount period ends, messages count at the standard rate until Claude creates or edits an artifact again, which restarts the count. The promotion runs from October 1, 2026 through October 15, 2026 and applies automatically.

How it works
In chats with Claude
When you create or edit an artifact in Claude, the next 10 messages in that chat use 50% less of your five-hour session limit. After 10 messages, the standard rate applies until Claude creates or edits an artifact in that chat again.
There’s also a limit within a single reply. When Claude answers a message, it works in steps, such as running a search, using a tool, or updating the artifact. Up to the first 15 steps of each reply can be discounted. Any further steps in that reply count at the standard rate.
Whether the first message in a chat is discounted depends on how you start the chat:
Start by choosing what to create: If you start a new chat by choosing Document, Presentation, or Design from the Output menu, the discount applies from your first message.
Start from a regular chat: If you ask Claude to create or edit an artifact partway through a chat, the message where Claude first creates the artifact counts at the standard rate. Your next 10 messages in the chat are discounted.
Note: This promotion reduces how much of your usage limits a chat uses. If you’ve turned on usage credits and a message uses it, that message is billed at the standard rate. Learn more about managing usage credits on paid Claude plans.
In a Cowork task
In Claude Cowork, the discount applies only to tasks in Cowork in the cloud, not to tasks that run locally in Claude Desktop.
How the discount is applied depends on how you start the chat:
Start by choosing what to create: If you start a new task by choosing Document, Presentation, or Design from the Output menu, the discount applies to about the first 45 minutes of the task.
Start from a regular cloud task: If Claude creates or edits an artifact in any other task, including tasks moved into a Workspace, up to the next 80 steps after Claude creates or edits an artifact can be discounted, such as running a search, using a tool, or updating the artifact. Creating or editing another artifact restarts the discount.
Eligibility
No action is required to participate. If you’re on an eligible plan, the discount applies to your account automatically.
Where does this apply?
The discount applies to chats in Claude on web, desktop, and mobile, and to tasks in Claude Cowork.
It doesn’t apply to Claude Code, Claude API, Claude in Slack, Cowork tasks that run locally on desktop, scheduled or unattended tasks, the charges for usage credits, artifacts made with the earlier version of artifacts, or Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides made through the Google Drive connector. The discount also doesn't apply to work in the standalone Claude Design app, including projects you publish as artifacts from there. Designs you make in Claude are included: choose Design from the Output menu in a chat or a Cowork task.
